Part-Time Office Building Security Guard

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Part-Time Building Security Guard for an office building in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will maintain a secure environment, monitor building access, and respond promptly to any security concerns. This position is perfect for someone looking to work part-time and who takes pride in ensuring safety and security. This is currently a part-time, independent contractor (1099) job, but there is an opportunity to grow into a full time position down the road.

Duties
– Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a security presence
– Monitor and control access to the building

– Conduct regular patrols of the premises
– Investigate alarms or disturbances and act accordingly
– Conduct regular patrols of the premises

– Report to the onsite property manage regarding any damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences or safety concerns and complete any incident report when required
– Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
– Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises
– Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance

Requirements
– High school diploma or GED, must be minimum 18 years old, must be either US citizen or have proof of work permit. Must pass criminal background and drug testing check. Must have basic communication skills with fluency in speak, read and write English.

– Possession of a valid security guard certificate preferred.
– Knowledge of CCTV surveillance systems
– CPR and First Aid certification preferred
– Proficient in conflict management and de-escalation techniques
– Familiarity with loss prevention strategies
– Ability to conduct surveillance operations efficiently

Pay: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
• No weekends
