Meet the team:
Join the Dexcom San Diego Facilities & Security team where you will work closely with Manufacturing Operators and Innovators to provide Physical Security for the dynamic campus and diverse workforce.
Where you come in:
You will ensure day to day security operations are in consistent alignment with company priorities and meet departmental goals, being ready to adjust priorities on an as needed basis.
You will establish and maintain site programs, procedures and workplace instructions outlining the roles and responsibilities for maintaining a safe and secure workplace.
You will ensure the Security Operations Center (SOC) alarms, video surveillance, communications devices and other pertinent security equipment are adequate, and functional and the center is always appropriately staffed to meet the following responsibilities;
maintain a daily activity report.
maintain access badge control and accountability.
execute access badge modifications as directed and approved by proper authorities.
ensure the facility maintains a security force that is adequate to maintain a minimum-security protection while maintaining staff assignments and breaks in accordance with state and federal labor law.
execute required incident notifications in a timely manner.
ensure the security staff assigned to patrol and lobby officer posts are in proper uniform and knowledgeable of
post orders and workplace instructions.
ensure full compliance with all regional, state, and federal regulating agencies.
You will represent Dexcom as a local law enforcement liaison/designated individual for direct communications regarding emergencies, incidents & events, weather, or routine reports, as required to local city and county officials, organizations, and related safety and security task forces as required.
The incumbent has the authority and responsibility to intervene and make immediate decisions in Dexcom campus operations whenever conditions pose an immediate threat to life or health, or to property owned or used/occupied by Dexcom personnel.
You will ensure all members of the Security team (including integrated contractors) maintain awareness of the typical hazards of the workplace as well as the special hazards that may be encountered at Dexcom, such as biohazards, radiation, chemicals, etc. Follows established procedures for dealing with such potential hazards.
You will conduct daily reviews of Daily Activity Reports, incident reports and provides status or other reports as requested by management.
You will provide reports to the Senior Facilities/Security Manager and other Dexcom leaders regarding site activities, irregularities, and identify action needed.
You may conduct investigations for incidents that involve violation of Dexcom policy or incident requiring documentation due to safety or human relations concerns.
You may work outside scheduled hours to ensure consistent coverage, attend training classes, meetings, and other activities as needed to meet the business needs of the department and security team.
What makes you successful:
Your possession of FEMA Training Certificates (free online courses): Introduction to Incident Command System – ICS 100, Active Shooter What You Can Do – IS-907, Workplace Security Awareness – IS 906
Your 3 – 5 years’ service in security (with 2 years in supervisory role)
Your knowledge of security policies and practices with great communication and writing skills.
Your knowledge & working experience of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems. Certification as a systems administrator for Genetec access control systems highly desirable. Ability to determine corrective or maintenance needs and effectively communicate them to Facilities Manager or System Administrator.
Your experience in training and supervising all aspects of security functions. Ability to provide support, direction, and coaching to subordinate employees in the areas of training, disciplinary action, problem resolution, and work delegation.
Your law enforcement/incident investigation experience.
Your prior experience in corporate or contracted security as an account manager.
Your ability to understand and apply company and departmental policies and procedures not limited to HR, EHS and Facilities policies and procedures related to the position.
Your physical ability to perform tasks assigned to job function. Ability to move through limited access spaces and cover distances on foot to widely separated work sites.
Able to perform trend analysis and recommend corrective action.

Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of industry experience Informal management/ team lead experience.
Exempt Salary Details:
The annual base salary range for this role is $78,900.00 to $131,500.00. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
