PARK SAFETY AND SECURITY (Seasonal)
REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. At the scene, Park Safety and Security personnel are required to perform a patient assessment, determining the nature and extent of injury or illness. They will be required to provide basic life support, which may include airway management, ventilation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of an automatic defibrillator as well as pre-hospital care which may require controlling bleeding, treating shock, bandaging wounds, and immobilizing broken bones.
Park Safety and Security personnel are responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism thefts or other criminal behavior. Special treatment and or attention may be required for specific individuals with special needs who attend the park daily.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Be knowledgeable about Morgan’s Wonderland, programs, policies, and procedures to ensure excellent customer service when providing assistance or answering questions of guests and visitors.
- Be available to greet and welcome guests and visitors during business hours. Filter and coordinate appropriate assistance.
- Works closely with the operations team to ensure the security and safety of the park and park guests.
- Secure and maintain park premises, and report in detail any suspicious incidents
- Assess casualties and find out the nature & cause of their injuries
- Manage the incident and ensure the continuing safety of themselves, bystanders and the casualty
- Gathers and documents personal information when treating an injured/sick guest
- Sterilizes, disinfects, anoints, and bandages minor cuts and burns
- Organizes and creates schedules for employees during operating days
- Order and maintain current inventory
- Re-stock and replace used linens, blankets and other supplies after each patient, and cleans all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of first aid stations and other miscellaneous cleaning duties as needed.
- Arrange for further medical help or other emergency services to attend
- Safely maintain all exposed equipment indoors and outdoors.
- Perform inspection of the premises and ensure that any hazardous conditions are taken care of immediately.
- Protecting company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Observing and report signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
- Apprehend criminals and evict violators
- Take accurate security notes of opened doors, vandalism, and unusual occurrences
- Report in detail any suspicious incidents
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
General
- Create and foster an atmosphere of friendliness and hospitality in the park office to ensure an enjoyable experience for staff, and guests.
- Cultivate staff morale by monitoring team dynamics and individual needs.
- Participates in ongoing professional development and maintains an understanding of current best practices.
- Take ownership and support the park administration in the effective implementation of the Park’s Emergency Response Plan.
- Attend and participate in employee training and meetings
- Any other duties as required.
Qualifications
- This position requires a minimum of 5 years of administration experience. Experience work with non-profits preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation
- Common knowledge in order to trouble shooting a problem and the ability to problem solve issues to a desired outcome.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and organize varied/multiple tasks
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks.
- An understanding in Microsoft Office suite including word, excel, teams, and outlook.
- Strong Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission and core values of Morgan’s Wonderland as well as the implementation of these values in all daily work activities.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to work as part of a team; maintain a positive attitude even under stress.
- Willingness to work weekend days and have a flexible schedule that varies by the season of the year.
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements –
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and twisting upper body.
Environmental Demands –
- The work environment is an outdoor park environment with continuous outdoor activity and exposure to weather.
- Must remain alert with no lapses of consciousness
- Continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate park staff attire at all times.
