Unarmed Security Officer – Central Scottsdale, AZ – $23/hr.

Schedule: Full time Swing Shift, Full time Grave, Part time Swing, Part time Grave

Description

This unarmed, uniformed (suits) security officer position functions to deter, detect, and report. Additionally, to patrol, and inspect client property to detect and protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity. Work involves assessing problem situations and exercising tact and judgment in bringing about resolution. Performance is evaluated based on results achieved. Most positions require night shift work, holidays, and weekends.

General Functions

Patrol building or secure posts as instructed and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or client rule infractions at or near assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, client or employees at the site. Report all incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies. Respond to emergencies and alarms.

Basic Qualifications

• You must be at least 21 years of age.
• You must be in good physical condition and able to perform normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion, such as:
  • Standing, sitting, or walking for an entire shift
  • Climbing stairs and ladders
  • Lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Running short distances
• You must be mentally alert and capable of exercising good judgment, implementing instructions, and assimilating necessary specialized training.
• You must have a reliable vehicle to get to and from work.
• You must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License.
• You must have a cell phone with message capability.
• You must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• You must possess basic computer skills and have experience with Microsoft Office.
• You must be able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English. The degree of proficiency must be at a level which allows employees to:
  • Write Incident Reports, facility security journals, and other records
  • Read, interpret, and properly carry out facility security instructions and post orders
  • Converse freely in person and over communications systems in use by ASA
• You must be able to pass a drug screen test.
• You must provide us with a copy of your MVD record.
• You must possess a valid Arizona Guard Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
