Security Officer / Clerical

Security Officer for a Class A Office building in Manhattan

A competitive hourly pay rate ranging from $17 to $19, commensurate with experience.),

The objective for this position is to provide security to protect the building’s assets and occupants and provide a professional presence in the building lobby.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor the environment, with the ability to detect suspicious and unsafe activity / packages.
Recognition of incoming and outgoing traffic, tenants, visitors, and guests alike.
Answer telephones in a professional manner and demonstrate ability to perform clear and audible announcements with all life safety systems
Visual inspection and verification of visitors, vendors, employees access credentials to prevent unauthorized access to the property.
Understand building policies and procedures, enforcement of procedures.
Follow established emergency action planning, procedures, fire protection, and safety guidelines.
Communicate and calm tenants and visitors during elevator entrapments, notifying third party elevator
Assist Fire Safety Director in Preparation of reports, inspections and make recommendations for eliminating fire hazards / unsafe practices.
May perform additional security services functions, permissible under the Security Officer’s/ licenses and as specified for the property.
Knowledge of or ability to learn fire inspection operations, and procedures
Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service environment
Must have reliable transportation to report to job site promptly
Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize and problem solve
Possess computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and data entry functions

Applicants are required to possess a valid New York State Security guard license.

Possession of, or readiness to acquire, a Fire Guard F01 CoF
