THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION Harris County Sheriff’s Office Hospital Security Unit deputy's primary duties include maintaining and monitoring inmates sent to the hospital or other off-site medical facilities. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain care, custody, and control of inmates that are outside of the jail for medical purposesSearching, securing, and escorting inmates in non-secure areasSearching areas where inmates will receive medical attentionInteracting with the public and medical personnelPerform other tasks within the sectionThis Job Description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Must be an Honorably Retired Peace OfficerA minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in law enforcement, record management, or a related fieldMust have an active TCOLE Peace Officer LicensePrior experience in conducting conflict resolutionsMust present a professional imageAgree to commit to the Hospital Security Unit, the length of time will be determined at a later dateKnowledge of: Applicant must be willing to be trained in all necessary computer programs and/or systems, including Superion, DIMS, JIMS, and Windows Office SuiteSkilled in: Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision Ability to: Perform searches of inmates to include inmates with medical issues and in a hospital bedPerform other assignments and duties as required and/or necessary
