SkyTech Security is hiring for Full-Time Hospital Security Officers in various Chicago and Suburban locations immediately!

We have immediate openings for full-time Hospital Security Officers with preferred experience working in hospital and clinical environments. The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Hospital Security Officer detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observe and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner. We are looking for FULLY COVID vaccinated applicants who are available to work morning and evening shifts Monday thru Saturday!

Responsibilities:

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot. Bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals.
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
• Prepare logs and investigate reports as required, by writing, typing, or entering accurate information that can be easily interpreted by fellow officers and supervisors.
• Read and interpret police reports, local and state law, and procedure manuals
• Accurately enter information and maintain the lost and found department log while adhering to the stated restrictions as they appear in the department manual
• Ensure that all property is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accord with client standards
• Identify, educate, manage, and report security risks impacting services delivery.

Requirements:

• Must be Fully COVID Vaccinated
• Must be able to provide a copy of their immunization records
• Must have a PERC card (Exp. 05-31-2027)
• Must have a 20hr training certificate
• Must have a valid State of Illinois ID or Driver's license
• Must be able to provide a copy of your High School Diploma/GED or transcript
• Must be 18 years old
• Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and maneuver up to 75lbs
• Be able to use a N95 mask
• Stable and consistent work history (at least 1 year in security field preferred)
• Must successfully pass a drug screen & criminal background check
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly and accurately
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills; must be able to assess and evaluate situations effectively
• Good listening skills
• Be able to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
• Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
• Be able to listen, share, modify information and effectively communicate amongst different stakeholder groups and in varying departments
• Must successfully pass a drug test and criminal background check

Pay: $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
