Job Title: Part-Time Foot Patrol Security Officer

Location:Oak Park

Pay Rate: 15.00 hourly

Shift: Saturdays and Sundays, 6am – 6pm (Plus school holidays)

Job Description:

The Part-Time Foot Patrol Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through regular foot patrols of the assigned site on the north side of Chicago. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and effective communication skills to assist with the safety of the premises and individuals within it.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Foot Patrol: Conduct thorough foot patrols of the assigned site to monitor and assist with safety and security.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Access Control: Monitor and control access points to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Conflict Resolution: Manage and de-escalate conflicts or disturbances involving individuals on the premises.
• Reporting: Document and report all incidents, accidents, and observations accurately and promptly.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other security personnel and site management toassist with cohesive security operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Current PERC Card: Must possess a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
• 20-Hour Security Certificate: Completion of the 20-hour basic security training.
• High School Diploma: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in security, preferably in foot patrol or similar roles.

• Vigilance and Attention to Detail: Ability to remain alert and observant throughout the shift.
• Conflict Management: Strong skills in handling confrontations and resolving conflicts effectively.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, walk, and respond quickly to emergencies during the shift.

Schedule:

• Days: Saturdays and Sundays (Plus school holidays)
• Hours: 6am – 6pm

Additional Requirements:

• Must be willing to work on the north side of Chicago.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and efficiently.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Hours are variable and can change based on the needs of the business.
