Job Description

SUMMARY:

Works under the direction of Security and Safety. The incumbent is responsible for the security in the area he or she is assigned to.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Temporary Employee Management:
    • Ensure temporary employees are included on the expected attendance list.
    • Verify that temporary employees watch the company's safety video.
    • Confirm that temporary employees sign the acknowledgment form for the safety video.
    • Collaborate with HR on the above processes.
  • Utilize Outlook on a computer daily for communications and scheduling.
  • Controls all incoming and outgoing traffic (both personnel and vehicles) by checking identification cards.
  • Reports or logs all incoming and outgoing materials at the employer entrance.
  • Patrols employee parking lot and facilities to ensure that facility is secure and safety regulations are being followed.
  • Monitors security cameras and fire panel.
  • Incumbent is on call for all emergencies.
  • Answer incoming calls and routes calls to the appropriate departments.
  • Ensures visitors and employees wear necessary safety equipment.
  • Keep record of all unusual occurrences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
  • Ability to handle multiple security tasks.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Dependable and work well with others.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Prefer minimum of one year of related experience.

SKILLS:

Must be able to work well with others. Must ensure that assignments are organized and needs and concerns are addressed. Profile should indicate abilities and tendencies toward flexibility and dependability. Must have good problem solving abilities. Must be able to read, write and speak English.

REASONING ABILITY:

Should be good at identifying and solving problems. Should be able to turn verbal instructions into plans for implementation and stay on task for long range plans. Must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Security Training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing duties, employee is required to verbally communicate and listen. The employee is required to walk, sit and use their hands. The employee should be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee successfully perform the essential functions of the job. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in the security office, warehouse plant and will be subject to moderate working conditions with some slightly disagreeable features. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
