We are looking for a motivated individual to join our ever-growing team, as a Control Room Operative based at the ABBA Arena, Olympic Park, Stratford, East London. The role offers 48 hours per week plus the opportunity for overtime. 12hr day and night shifts, operating on a 4 on/ 4 off rota.
The role
247 Control Room Operative
Shift Pattern
48 hours per week across 4 x 12-hour shifts.
4 days on (day shift), 4 days off, 4 days on (night shift) rotation.
There is also opportunity for overtime.
Renumeration
We are a London Living Wage Employer
Rate of Pay – £14.00 per hour.
Overtime opportunities available.
Training/Qualification Requirements
CCTV SIA Licence
Door Supervisor SIA Licence
NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety
Fire Safety Awareness/Fire Marshall Training Certificate
ACT Awareness e-learning Certificate
ACT Security e-learning Certificate
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 2 years experience working within the security industry as a control room/cctv operative.

All Expedient Security Ltd personnel are subject to Security Vetting at the start of their employment, which is carried out under the BS 7858:2019 standard. Employment is dependent upon an acceptable screening outcome.
New Operatives will be expected to work a week of event shifts as an SIA to familiarise themselves with the Arena before starting in the control room.
Main Purpose of Role
To ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, the safety of all customers, staff and visitors attending any event held at the ABBA Arena in accordance with the requirements of the ABBA Arena Health and Safety Policy, the Venue Licence and any relevant and applicable legislation.
To undertake the instructions of the Head of Security, Health & Safety or Deputy of Security, Health & Safety and any Safety Steward Supervisor.
Roles & Responsibilities
· Monitor CCTV, logging any incidents in accordance with the company policy
· To ensure all logs, reports and records are produced accurately and promptly, covering all activities involving CCTV both externally and internally within the Control Room
· To liaise with the Police and other authorised agencies for the viewing of images recorded on the CCTV system as agreed with Management
· Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates
· Guard against theft and maintain security of premises, including the movement of assets in and out of the building
· Answer alarms and investigate disturbances and dealing with these in line with Standard Operating Procedures whilst maintaining personal security and safety
· Monitor and authorise entrance and departure of employees, visitors, deliveries vehicles and others; maintain accurate records of deliveries and access granted, including records of departures from the Arena
· Update Security Log with activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorised persons, or unusual occurrences
· Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorised persons; escalating to Head of Security, Health & Safety or Deputy in their absence
· Conduct and log random searches in line with Standard Operating Procedures; maintain full records
· Warn persons of rule infractions or violations or evict violators from premises
· Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment and machinery (within authorised limits) to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering
· Monitor fire and security alarms and camera activated alarms and carry out the required action to resolve the issue
· Responsible for the security of the Control Room and its contents, including the security of data and its transfer to authorised agencies. Only authorised personnel are permitted access to the Control Room and they must be booked in and out
· The Operator on duty is responsible for keeping the Control Room clean and tidy at all times
· Ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for health, hygiene, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons, and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the service

Knowledge
· Understanding and application of GDPR Regulations in line with The Data Protection Act 2018
· To know and understand the function of his/her role and area of responsibility
· To understand what excellent customer service is and exhibit this at all times
· To know and understand how to de-escalate issues quickly and efficiently; and know when to escalate to supervisor as appropriate
· To know and understand how to complete incident reports and the importance of gathering and preserving evidence as appropriate
· Standard keyboard skills and ability to communicate through various IT systems
· Be fluent in spoken and written English
