Job description – Experienced Security Supervisor – Hotel & Casino (Night Shift)

Are you ready for a new Adventure? Looking to expand your Supervisory skills and knowledge? Our Security Team is growing and we're seeking an Experienced Security Supervisor to join us today!

The successful candidate will provide Security Supervision and protection services to Calgary’s finest entertainment venue, responsible for our two four-star hotels, 60,000+ square foot casino, banquet centre, entertainment showroom, restaurants, pubs, and parking areas for the safety of patrons, staff, and protection of assets and gaming activities.

Security Supervisors are responsible for the overall security of the Hotel & Casino, Casino employees, and volunteer workers. Supervisors are also required to provide direction and supervision to their teams, assist with training of new guards, enforce age/access provisions within the casino, conduct patrols, perform customer assistance, respond to emergencies and medical calls, enforce the Trespass to Premises Act and Criminal Code, and liaise with Calgary Police, Fire, EMS and AGLC Inspectors.

Good report writing skills are essential. You will be required to perform other related and compatible duties as assigned, by the Manager, Security & Surveillance or other Management teams as requested.

The Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Candidates Must be located in the Calgary Alberta Area and be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident OR have an Open Work Permit to be considered.
  • Minimum 4+ years of Security Supervisor, Bylaw or Law Enforcement Experience Required. Recent Casino experience preferred within Canada or an International Location.
  • Post-Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Must have a Clear Calgary Police / RCMP Security Clearance – No Criminal Convictions or pending charges within the court system issued within the last 90 days.
  • AGLC Certificates including AML, Deal Us in Casino Staff Training (Phase 1 & 2), ProTect & ProServe Required
  • Candidates must be physically able to be on their feet for their entire shift, climb stairs, pull heavy carts and other physical tasks without issue.
  • Defence Tactics Threat Pattern Recognition (Formerly PPCT), Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training, and/or Handcuffing training preferred
  • Must have a Valid Standard First Aid/CPR-C & AED Certificate, EMR, Paramedic or Nursing Certifications/Training.
  • Strong Communication skills as candidates must be able to Communicate in English verbally and in writing.
  • Candidate must be able to multi-task and Excel in Time-Sensitive Situations.
  • Possess a high level of honesty and integrity
  • Adherence to high standards, methods, and procedures

Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule as the hours of work will be based on operational and business needs. This is a Night Shift Position with a start time of 1800hrs, Candidates MUST have their own vehicle, as transit is not reliable for our area.
