What you will do

• Work undercover in plain clothes, discreetly blending in with shoppers to observe potential theft activities.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customer behavior, and review security camera footage for suspicious activities.
• Discreetly confront individuals suspected of theft when they attempt to leave with unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers or individuals violating store policies off the premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise when necessary.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including incident reports, for thefts, policy violations, and other security-related incidents.
• Escalate situations to law enforcement when necessary, following company protocols.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations to ensure the safety and security of the premises.

The Ideal Candidate

• A keen interest in asset protection and crime prevention
• Knowledge of the 5 steps to follow to identify and apprehend shoplifters
• A Valid Alberta Security License
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifters
• Previous security experience in a retail environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
• Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Use of Force Training or PPCT training with the ability and willingness to make arrests.

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
